Stock Mopar 6×9 speakers in the old oval speaker holes in the trunk?

Greetigs Learned Moparians!

I’m looking for good fitting speakers to drop into the oval holes in the sheetmetal behind the back seat under the rear window. I think they measure 6″ x 9″ W x L but the ellipse made then might not exactly conform to modern 6 x 9 speakers. How many of you have tried installing modern speakers in that spot on your Slab sided or even fuselage bodied cars? I guess even Formals probably would more closely match things made a mere decade before them than modern…

Do 1968 steering wheels bolt onto a 1966 column?

Greetings Moparians!

I’ve stumbled onto a nice 2 spoke green steering wheel which matches Mathilda’s green well, and would enable me to devote the necessary time and effort to restoring her much cracked 3 spoke wheel to its proper beauty. BUT, WILL THE 1968 STEERING WHEEL FIT? It LOOKS LIKE it will, but if any of you Wiser Elders KNOW by experience if this is so, or not, I’ll be grateful!

Thx in advance.

Anyone use a journal sleeve on an axle journal?

I nicked the journal while replacing the axle or "drive shaft" bearings 4+ yrs ago, and now, sure as SHIT see oil and grease leaking into the brake drum on that side of the rear end. It occurred to me that sleeving that journal sure would be…

Mathilda’s 5th Anniversary with Familiarum Mauritius!

5 years ago today, I drove home our 1966 Chrysler Newport 2 door hard top, purchased with money from an insurance payment for some fool totaling our 1988 Oldsmobile Ciera. This proved to be a MOST blessed answer to my prayers for a GOOD family car. So, on March 10, 2016, I exchanged $1400 for the vehicle depicted below.

Can’t say I wasn’t warned….

Greetings C Body Moparians,

I had installed some crap modern brake shoes along with RayWorstos drums about 2 1/2 yrs ago, rationalizing then that “this was all there was” and I was in a hurry. I didn’t like the crap material in the brake shoes I got from VatoZone, but deluded myself with notions of their warranty, which doubtless could be invoked for the shit shoes themselves, but what of the drum that got scored last Sunday when the secondary shoe, front driver side just CRUMBLED?!…

Would a billet aluminum transmission pan be worth getting?

Greetings to All Wise Moparians here!

After nigh 3 years of driving the best transmission I’ve ever owned, the familiar, putrid fly of a leaking transmission pan interface has polluted the ATF. This leak first drew attention this past spring, meriting then a pint of Type F as I prefer to run in my 727s. This sufficed for about 2 months, with the shortage of fluid causing the behavior I’ve come to know and loathe from driving leaky old automatic trannies for 42+ years. After replacing the…
