crankshaft help

Ok guys, here the deal, i have always ran bigblocks, but now i have a 67 barracuda that im going to equipt with a small block, my good friend (and also my machinist), have given me a 340 block, that has a fresh 030 overbore, and a set of 340 x heads, (fresh rebuild),now heres the question, he states(my machinist– which by the way is prone to chevys, and fords i think), anyway, he thinks that small block crankshafts ( 318,340 ) where externally balanced, and i told him i didnt think so, now i…

Vanity plates

Most of the time I hate em, waste of money in my opinion. I especially don’t like the car or motor call out type.. like nobody can figure out you’re driving a 68STANG or stuff like that.
Once in a while though you see a good one that is either very funny or unique.

Lifter problem

The Dart started missing and then smoothed out but started knocking very loud. It’s a high pitch knock not like a rod. Pulled the valve cover and #2 exhaust lifter could be pushed down like it was collapsed. All the others are fine.The valve is opening when turning the motor over. This is a 318 with roller lifters, replaced the lifter and still the same thing. Does this mean I have a plugged oil passage? If so how can I open it?

After spending the big $$ for a paint job I cringe at the thought of my car sitting in the garage, I need to get a car cover for its winter nap, the car will be stored totally indoors. Any recommendations for a good quality cover.

Fart’n’go!

Thats what my dad affectionately called my Grandpa’s Dodge Fargo! Name suited it, apparently when you hit the gas you wouldnt get much but a big cloud of carbon out the arse end of it. I remember it being two-tone red and white. I would love to track one down for sentimental reasons. Grampa is gone, but Grandma is still here. She would get a kick out of it. One that is fairly close to stock. Doesnt have to be original, but stock would be nice. Keep on the lookout for one for me. I am in Ontario…
