OK, The 74 Duster I just picked up has a 727 TF, & an aftermarket stamped steel deep pan,(Mopar Perf ?) the thing leaked like crazy, so I bought a new gasket, cleaned everything up real good with brake cleaner, ran a thin bead of high temp silicone on both sides of the gasket & reinstalled, I even let it sit 24 hrs. before refilling the trans, The sucker still leaks, I'm far from being a rookie, but did I miss something here? Are there special techniques for sealing up a deep pan??? should I have skipped the sealer & put the gasket on dry?
(I used the small bolts to keep the gasket centered while the sealer set up.)
